My name is Marina Alcantara. I am 10 years old. I have never read anything like The Penderwicks. These books tell stories full of action, drama, romance, etc. I never thought I would read a series so good to make me never want it to end. I am so upset that I read the very last book. My mom said I am a lot like Jane (except for the obsession with love in the last book) because, I too am a young writer. But my two favorite characters are definitely Skye and Jeffrey. Skye, because she has a great personality, a bit of a temper, and is very smart. Jeffrey, because, he is a wonderful musician, and very kind to all four sisters. I just started school and I am bummed out because I don't have a fourth, or fifth, (and so on,) Penderwicks book to read yet, but still, when the two other books have been completed, five is not enough! So the whole point of this message is to ask you if you could write a few (or a lot) more Penderwicks books to keep the series going. I hope you read this email and think about what I just told you.

Have read the 1st two in the series aloud to my 3 girls. We all love the story. The Penderwicks are growing up a little quickly with the latest love interest for Jane, 12, but as of Chapter 11, it’s not so much that I have skipped around.
My daughters (6 & 7) and I love, love, love The Penderwicks. The Penderwicks at Point Mouette is a wonderful book and a wonderful addition to a favorite series. I would highly recommend this book and this series to children and parents.
Have I written a review of this book before? If so, it would only mirror my repeated readings of the book. I admit, one main twist of the plot is like a Dickensian denouement, and you wonder Could this really happen? But you're reading it, so it does. Ms. Jeanne Birdsall has many many strengths in her writing. One that I appreciate very much is her delicacy in character portrayal here, she throws approximately nine people (adults and children) and two dogs together summering for two weeks in Maine, and without the situation turning into a riot, each character is "turned out" so beautifully, with such detail,uniqueness, and distinctness that for that moment she (or he) is the only one in view. What makes her books big and wide open is that everyone is so much herself, or himself, that, as you read, you move from world to world. Keep writing!
If you have not yet met the Penderwicks, you are seriously missing out. I confess right at the beginning that these are some of my favorite books of all time. The four sisters, Rosalind, Skye, Jane, and Batty and endearing and oh so flawed. Maybe it's because I am one of four sisters myself (and a brother), but I can relate to these girls so easily. Every time I meet them, I come away smiling or laughing. Now you know that this review will not be objective in the slightest.
These books are delightful. Not only is the writing very fine, but the characters feel so real, both the talents and flaws of Rosalind, Skye, Jane, Batty, and their friend Jeffrey show up loud and clear. This third book has a special surprise in store for Jeffrey, a plot twist that I should have picked up on before I did, but I was so involved in the sisters antics that I didn't notice it at first. I won't say more than that because I don't want to spoil it if you haven't read it yet. Happy sigh. Only problem now is that I'll have to wait for the next one.
